The Staunton-Augusta Family YMCA is now signing up aspiring volleyball players for the Girls’ Volleyball League.

Female athletes ages nine through 14 are welcome. The league runs March 18th through May 2nd. Games start at 5:30 pm on Thursdays.

“We want all young ladies who would like to come out and try the sport,” said Priscilla Jenkins, volleyball coordinator for the Staunton-Augusta Family YMCA. “It’s a great way to figure out the skill set, grow and learn and become a better player.”

Practice times and dates are determined by the number of athletes that sign up to participate in the program. There is a list of possible practice times. If parents have a time and day that works best, Jenkins will try and accommodate. The practice times, of course, are contingent on the number of athletes that sign up to compete.

Possible practices times can be selected from the following:

  • Mondays at 5:00 pm
  • Mondays at 6:00 pm
  • Mondays at 7:00 pm
  • Wednesdays at 5:00 pm
  • Wednesdays at 6:00 pm

The cost of the Girls’ Volleyball League is $35 for members and $45 for non-members. For more information, please contact Jenkins at priscilla.p.jenkins@gmail.com.
