Monday Morning Bible Study

In 1844, 22 year-old George Williams, founded the first Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA), a refuge of Bible study and prayer for young men seeking escape from the hazards of life on the streets of London.

The Staunton Y carries on the tradition of non-denominational Bible study that is free and open to the public every Monday morning at 9:00am in the multi-Purpose Room. Bring your Bible and a friend. This hour-long study is led by YMCA Volunteer Chaplain Allen Jones.


Neuro-Wellness Class

Formerly “Stroke Survivor Wellness,” this class is designed for stroke survivors and those who suffer from Parkinsons and other neuro-related-conditions. This class helps patients stay active and improve their health after completing formal physical therapy. This class will be conducted by YMCA Personal Trainers/Instructors who have trained with Licensed Physical Therapists. Participants MUST have a physician’s referral. Class size is limited; four-week sessions. MUST PRE-REGISTER.

Veterans’ Coffee

All Veterans, as well as anyone interested in meeting with, shaking hands and thanking the Vets for their service to our country are invited to attend.  Coffee and donuts are provided.  This group meets every second Wednesday of the month, from 9:30am until 12:30pm and is free to attend.  Contact George Schmock for details.

Memoir Writing Workshop

Come join us as we learn to write together. This class is led by Bill Vonseldeneck. Please bring writing pad, pens, pencils “memories” and a willingness to share!

Valentine’s Day Luncheon

Please join us for our Valentine’s Day Luncheon on Wednesday, February 14 at 1:00 pm. This is one event you do not want to miss! The lunch will be covered dish with the Y providing paper products and drinks. We will be at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church’s Fellowship Hall. Sign up begins January 29.

Fees: No charge


“Why Not Sing” Singers and Musicians

Come join the fun as we sing the “old” and the “new” at local nursing homes, senior centers, and retirement communities. We will begin a new program in January, so new members are welcome! The only requirement is that you love to sing!

Practice time: Thursdays 6:00 pm-8:00 pm (Multi-Purpose room).
