Summer Day Camp

Summer Camp Financial Assistance Forms are available January 6-

May 1, 2020.

Please come into the front desk to fill one out. Financial Assistance Forms do not guarantee that you will receive

assistance. We will not accept forms after May 1, 2020.

Summer Camp 2020 will begin registration in February 2020. 

Summer Day Camp Information 2020

  • $10 one-time registration free
  • $110 per week- Member Rate, $125 per week-Non-Member rate
  • $10 discount for siblings off of weekly rate for weeks both siblings are attending
  • $75 off total if you prepay for a full summer of camp (7 or 8 weeks depending on site)

When kids experience Y camp, they experience something new every day like the power of a positive mentor, the confidence that comes from trying (and succeeding) and the importance of healthy, long-lasting friendships. From water activities and sports to creative arts, each day is packed with age-appropriate activities, new friends and personal growth. In addition to traditional and specialty camp activities, we are uniquely devoted to physical activity, water safety and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) education. Few environments will foster your child’s mind, body and spirit more than the YMCA. We have a 1-to-10 counselor to-camper ratio for camp, and a 1-to-8 ratio for Pre-K Camp.

  • One week sessions available
  • Scheduled activities are held between 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
  • Sites are open from 7:00 am – 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. (Weyers Cave site open 7:30am-5:30pm)
  • Breakfasts, snacks and lunch provided free through Staunton City Schools Summer Meal Program

Ages 4-5 (Little Y’s)

  • child must not have entered Kindergarten
  • must be able to use bathroom independently

Grades Rising 1st-5th (McSwain, Bessie, or Weyers Cave)

  • child must have completed Kindergarten (if homeschooled, contact camp director)

Grades 6-8 Middle School Adventure Camp

  • held at the Y

Specialty Camps

Travel Camp

Campers in our travel camp will experience daily adventures to locations throughout Virginia! Campers will be dropped off at the YMCA by 8:00am and then taken by bus on a variety of field trips each day, returning by 5:00pm. A trip calendar will be available by the end of January. Experiences such as indoor rock climbing, swimming at Sherando Lake, laser tag, and more! Limited space available.

Fees: $175 per child

Dates: July 20-24

Times: 8:00am-5:00pm

Grades: 3rd-5th and 6th-8th

Summer Camp Counselor in Training Program (CIT)

Our Counselor in Training (CIT) program gives teens that are rising 8th, 9th, and 10th graders a place to learn about teamwork, communication, understanding, and responsibility. CITs will learn to become leaders within their peer group by building confidence, trust, and respect. CIT’s will have the opportunity to apply their training by taking a leadership role in our day camp, developing creative programs, and working with younger campers. This program runs in two, two week sessions. CITs who excel at the program will be invited to act as volunteers in our summer camp after they complete parts a and b of a session.

Grades: Rising 8th, 9th, and 10th graders

Fees: $10 on-time registration fee per child

$110 per week per child- Member rate, $125 per week per child Non-Member rate
